How it started

Sentry Elevator Inspections is a company founded by Larry Nelson over 15 years ago, to provide high-quality elevator inspections to customers. With over 60 years of experience in the elevator industry, Larry has seen the industry evolve and change over the years.

Larry started his career in the elevator industry, working in installation, service, and repair. He quickly became known for his technical expertise and his commitment to customer service.

Larry founded Sentry Elevator Inspections to provide customers with the informed information they need to take care of their elevators.

Today, Sentry Elevator Inspections is a leading provider of QEI inspections in Florida. Larry and his team have completed thousands of inspections on many elevators, from small residential elevators to large commercial systems. They pride themselves on providing customers with thorough, and professional inspections as required by the state.

Larry’s dedication to elevators and elevator safety has earned him a reputation as a trusted expert in the industry. He continues to stay up-to-date on the latest technology and code regulations to ensure that his customers receive the best possible service.

Sentry Elevator Inspections is a full service elevator inspection and consulting firm registered in Florida. We hold the nationally recognized Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification, which is required for performing elevator inspections in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.

Our experience enables more accurate reporting of deficiencies and better familiarity with the history of code development. The impact of increased regulation and improved baseline safety standards can be lessened by employing a full service firm to properly inspect and make recommendations on improvement measures, accomplished during a phase-in period. At Sentry Elevator Inspection, we believe inspection services really involve more than just the required inspections. Our services include code research to answer any elevator related questions, and also advising the elevator owner of new state regulations and code requirements.
